Pakistan A has thrashed Afghanistan comprehensively by five wickets in the first unofficial one-day international (ODI), played at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Minal-Mahesh-Patel-c76331 Club Ground in Islamabad, today, May 25, 2011.

Earlier in the day, the visitors were restricted to a paltry 152. Although, Mohammad Nabi tried to rescue his side by scoring a fabulous innings of 72 runs, the Afghan line-up collapsed without playing complete 50 overs.
In response, the target seemed enough when Dawlat Zadran trapped http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sharjeel-Khan-c89775 and the young Umar Amin under immense pressure. However, the two players batted with responsibility,
nudging the ball around without taking unnecessary risk. The Afghan bowlers tried everything to steal another early but the duo dashed all of their dreams to ground. Both players put together a classy partnership of 55 runs which set the momentum for an easy
run-chase for the home side.
After a long struggle, Shapoor Khan provided his side much-needed breakthrough, dismissing Khan when he was looking good at 47.
After Khan’s sudden exit, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salahuddin-c88062, after scoring 14 runs, lost his wicket due to a huge mix-up between the two youngsters..

Three quick wicket gave some hope to the visitors but an excellent unbeaten 31-run partnership by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Clark-c2591 Ahmad took Pakistan home. While Yasin added 18 runs, Sarfraz chipped in with crucial 21.
From Afghan bowling, Dawlat Zadran emerged as the best bowler with his marvellous figures of 3/45. While Shapoor picked up a wicket, no other bowlers could manage to claim a wicket.
Pakistan is now leading the three-match series by 1-0. The two teams are scheduled to meet in the second game of the series on Friday, May 27, 2011.
