Pakistan have left-out explosive all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, from the ODI squad for the Champions Trophy, scheduled to kick-off in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 this June.
Afridi has had to deal with indifferent form over the past 12 months, and was omitted from a crucial ODI series against India in December 2012 but was back in the mix for the team’s tour of South Africa. However, he failed to turn around the corner and performed
well below his usual standards. He sent 37 wicketless overs in the five-match series and managed just 126 runs with the bat, 88 of which came in one match.
"Afridi had been selected as a bowling allrounder but he was not up to the mark and couldn't score at crucial occasions so we had to left him out," chief selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Iqbal-Qasim-c76980 said. "Had he scored at the domestic level he could have earned the place," Qasim
said. "It's always difficult to drop such a senior player but ultimately selectors have to take a decision for the sake of the team."

bowling all-rounder), all of whom had not been a part of the group which travelled to South Africa.
Qasim asserted that the composition was chosen after consensus of all of concerned parties. The squad announcement was delayed by almost 3 hours as the selectors waited for the approval from Chairman, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397.
"We have picked the squad from the best available resources after consulting the captain and the input from the coach," Qasim said. "There obviously were arguments but when the team is made, it's made with consensus.
