Pakistan Cricket Board Planning to use China as a Neutral Venue
The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering the possibility of using cricket grounds in China as neutral venues to play its international cricket home fixtures, amid security concerns in Pakistan.
According to sources, PCB’s director general Javed Miandad has submitted a report advising the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board to seriously consider China as a neutral venue and take a quick action in this regard.
Miandad wants the board to take solid and decisive steps towards this issue before this opportunity passes away.
China has recently been very interested in developing the infrastructure of cricket and serious steps have been taken in this direction. The Chinese have hired the services of many cricket legends from Pakistan and India to help
develop the sport in the country. Cricket has a great potential to grow in main land China, where many youngsters are eager to learn the game.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996 seems like a suitable option for Pakistan to play its home series because the PCB has been unsuccessful in convincing international teams to tour Pakistan.
Pakistan became a dangerous spot for international teams to travel after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team took place in Lahore, in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 last year, that resulted in the deaths of eight people and injured a few Sri Lankan
players. Because of this act of terrorism, Pakistan also lost the hosting rights of the 2011 World Cup, which was to be jointly hosted by Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
After 2001, teams have been hesitating to tour Pakistan, because of the ongoing war against terror. The Australians refused to tour Pakistan well before the Sri Lankan terrorist attacks.
The PCB has been financially suffering greatly due to the inevitability of foreign teams to come and play with the home side. Due to this, the PCB has been using neutral venues to play their home events.
This summer Pakistan played a home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 as a neutral
venue, but perhaps, now with the recommendations of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580, that is about to change with China being Pakistan’s first choice as a neutral venue.
