Pakistan Cricket Board Reacts Sharply to the Allegations Levelled by Shahid Afridi

Just a day after his retirement from international cricket, Afridi has been slapped with a show cause notice by the PCB, asking for his immediate explanation regarding the outburst against the board officials in his retirement statement to the media in Pakistan.
PCB released a statement regarding the latest punishment imposed on the flamboyant all-rounder in which it stated, “By announcing his retirement in the manner that he did Shahid Afridi is in breach of Clause 2.1.4 of the Central Contract dealing with Covenants
of the Cricketer. In passing disparaging remarks about the board and its officials, Shahid Afridi is in breach of Clause 4.4 dealing with Media obligations."
It has been revealed that the PCB has also suspended Afridi’s central contract and now he will not be able to play for Hamshire and will also be disallowed from taking part in the first edition of the Sri Lankan Premier League, later this year.
The Board has given Afridi seven-days to respond to the show cause notice and it has also been made clear that that no payments will be made to the cricketer on account of his Central Contract.

On Monday, the former, one-day skipper blamed PCB officials for his decision to retire from international cricket as he was snubbed by the PCB after being removed from his post of captaincy.
