Pakistan Cricket Board action 2011 - Zulqarnain Haider fined and under observation

The controversial wicketkeeper ran away from Dubai to London on the morning of the fifth One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. Haider claimed that he was receiving death threats from bookmakers to underperform in the series against the Proteas.
However, he came back to Pakistan in April 2011 after getting appropriate security assurance by the government officials.
Haider has been given permission to play professional cricket but he will be under severe scrutiny by PCB.
The head of the committee which heard http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sultan-Rana-c91768 said, "Zulqarnain will also be under a one-year probation period during which his conduct will be observed".
The lanky wicketkeeper came through the ranks of junior cricket in Pakistan and represented his country at the Under-15 and Under-19 level in different global tournaments.
The 25-year old has played 71 first-class matches so far and has 225 dismissals behind the stumps. On top of that, he has scored more than three thousand runs at a very reasonable average of 34.79 runs per innings in four-day cricket.
Haider made his Test debut in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 last year at Birmingham and scored 88 runs in the second innings of his very first match at the highest level of the sport.
The wicketkeeper now wants to leave behind this controversy and look forward. Haider is hopeful of making a return to Pakistan team by performing well in the domestic circuit.
"I did what I thought was right at that time. With the passage of time I realized that I committed a mistake. I should have informed the PCB, I should have informed my seniors. I just want to play cricket and it all depends on the selection committee whether they pick me for the national team or not", Haider said.
The controversial wicketkeeper still has a lot of questions to answer regarding his mysterious act, which gave a bad name to Pakistan in the cricketing world. Cricket fans all around the world want to know who threatened Zulqarnain, and, some of the cricket followers also think that it was all staged.
