The Pakistan Cricket Board has given central contracts to 19 players for a period of six months. Out of these 19 cricketers, seven are placed in Category A, five in Category B and the remaining seven in Category C.

Kamran’s younger brothers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c2720 and Adnan Akmal have also been successful in receiving central contracts. Umar is placed in Category B, as Adnan is in Category C. Adnan’s inclusion in the central contracts came as a surprise to many critics.
Veteran batsman Younis Khan, who was ignored last year, has made a come-back to the top category. Shoaib Akhtar’s story is similar to that of Younis, as he was also not in the central contacts in 2010, but ever since his return he has been a permanent member of the team and has paved his way to the top category.

Test specialist Taufiq Umar made his return to Pakistan cricket team after a couple of years and is positioned in Category C. While 19-year-old Ahmed Shehzad, who opens for Pakistan in One Day International's, is also in the same league with Asad Shafiq. Asad’s performance in Test matches has helped him in claiming a central contract.

Certain players name has been omitted from the contracts. The biggest name missing was that of Muhammad Yousuf. The batsman has been the mainstay in Pakistan’s batting line-up for the last decade and he will be hugely disappointed to miss out on this opportunity.
