Zulqarnain Haider’s request regarding imbursement of his suspended amount is under consideration by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to credible sources, the controversial wicketkeeper had asked the interior minister, Rehman Malik to present his case to the PCB for releasing the payment.
"When Zulqarnain met with Rehman Malik he requested him to ask the PCB to release his payments from last year's series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and in the UAE,” revealed the source.
"Malik recently during his meeting with the PCB http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulqarnain-c98682 as since he was not playing any cricket because of his case and was facing a financial crisis," the source added.
On November 8, 2010, Zulqarnain was missing from Team Pakistan’s hotel in Dubai, during the One Day International series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
According to Zulqarnain, he had been getting death threats from unknown sources, forcing him to engage in match fixing.
Zulqarnain then fled to England for protection and put forward an application for asylum on security grounds.
Zulqarnain had also taken the retirement from International cricket, which he revoked recently.
The PCB had canceled the central contract with the former wicketkeeper, creating a fact finding committee to probe into the matter.
The commission had discussed the matter with the Pakistan team's management, which rated Zulqarnain as a weak minded individual with behavioral issues.
The committee also contacted the runaway keeper in order to seek his side of the story, however, he failed to come up with anything solid.
PCB has again formulated a committee to investigate the case and has asked Zulqarnain to submit a proper reply to the show-cause notice which was sent to him on December 6, 2010.
Domestic Cricket Director, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Willey-c81951 supervise this disciplinary committee.
"The keeper is saying he is ready to face all consequences but the board should release him some payments as he is also not getting any help from his department who sacked him after he reached London," the source stated.
