Pakistan Cricket Board issues showcause notice to Javed Miandad – Cricket News Update
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show cause notice to former skipper Javed Miandad, in response to his weary remarks regarding the board’s working and policies.
"The PCB is very clear about the rules and regulations governing its employees and contracted players. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580 is a employee and has to follow these regulations as well," the official said.
Miandad on Wednesday, while criticizing the Board, said that 90 per cent of the decisions taken by the PCB proved wrong. The legendary cricketer, who has been rendering his services as director cricket affairs since 2008, on a
well-paid package, said that after clearly observing the system, he found out that PCB has been responsible for a lot of issues.
“People around the world regard my services as a cricketer but the PCB doesn’t want to give me authority to improve [Pakistan] cricket,” Miandad said.
The 54-year-old indicated that he has already brought this matter into the notice of President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also the chief patron of the board. Miandad added that he will have one more meeting with president of Pakistan
and will explain the miserable condition of the game in the country.
“I will request him to either take necessary steps [to improve cricketing matters] or allow me to leave the DG post,” stated Miandad,
The PCB official asserted that the board has sought explanation of Miandad’s statement, as it comes under violation of his central contract.
This is not for the first time that Miandad has lamented the board’s working, earlier in 2009 he stepped down from his post in a bid to stand against the policies of PCB’s chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128.
The main issue for which Miandad has been at loggerheads with the board was that he was not given full power to use his rights for the betterment of the board.
According to speculations, Miandad has only come forward with these allegations after his advice on the selection of a new Head coach for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 was not considered by the Paksitan Cricket Board.
