Pakistan Cricket Board seeks to resume international in the country – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking the resumption of international cricket by alluring foreign teams after assuring them of foolproof security during their tour of Pakistan.
Talking on the matter, a source from the PCB said, “The board (PCB) has formed a foolproof security plan and it will be presented and explained to the all cricket nations in future."
According to insiders, PCB chairman Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Singapore-c3005.
The chairman is also expected to meet the chairman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mustafa-Kamal-c78122 on the sidelines of the meeting inorder to convince him to send his team to Pakistan.
Pakistan are currently touring Bangladesh, where they won the three-match one-day series by 3-0 and are looking strong in the first Test of the two-match Test series.
Zaka will also visit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 this month, where he would try to convince his counterparts to formally announce a series between the two rival nations.
India and Pakistan have not played against each other since the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terror attacks in 2008, which India blames on Pakistan backed extremist groups.
The arch rivals have faced each other in International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) events but have refrained from playing in a bilateral series.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top priority is to host Bangladesh in 2012, which would open the doors for international cricket in the terror plagued country.
Foreign teams have avoiding touring Pakistan since the 2009 terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, when the side was touring Pakistan.
Eight Pakistanis lost their lives, while eight Sri Lankans were injured in the terror ambush as their bus was en route to Gaddafi stadium to play against the host team.
After escaping from the failed ambush, the Sri Lankans were airlifted back to their country and the series was immediately called off.
This had adverse effect on cricket in Pakistan, as the national team now has to play home events at a neutral venue. So far PCB has used http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) as neutral grounds to host home tournaments.
