Pakistan Cricket Board’s biased attitude towards Younis Khan

Ijaz Butt has said that Mohammad Yousuf does not need to appeal against his indefinite ban or approach the board to get his name cleared. But Younis on the other hand, has been asked to approach the board again and clear his position if he wants himself to be considered for the test series against England that kicks off next week.

Younis along with his teammate, Mohammad Yousuf was handed an indefinite ban for infighting in the team. But now the legal advisor has said that the cases of both the players are different and need to be dealt with separately.
Despite getting his ban revoked, Younis Khan was not included in the Test squad for the tour of England. After Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the Lord’s Test, the PCB officials - realizing the importance of some experienced test players among the youngsters - once again looked back towards the veteran test players, Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan. Chances of Younis making the squad against England are once again dim while Mohammad Yousuf is all set to return in the Test series against England.
The PCB officials have been charging the former captain with various allegations. The Chairman of PCB, Ijaz Butt has accused him of giving inappropriate statements and breaching the code of conduct.
"Younis and his lawyer have given inappropriate statements. There is a players' code of conduct in place and we will not spare anyone who violates the code", said the PCB chief.
The legal adviser of PCB, Tafazzul Rizvi comes up with his own stories. One day he asked Younis to apologise to the PCB chief if he wants himself to be considered for the national selection and the other day the legal advisors advised the former captain to approach the board and clear his position on the cases pending against him.
Rizvi went on to say the cases of Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan were different so both would have to be dealt separately. Both the former captains were banned indefinitely by the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this year alleging them for infighting that spoiled the dressing room environment.
PCB has asked Younis Khan to approach the board if he wants himself to be considered for the national squad for the upcoming series against England. Rizvi revealed that the former captain has not contacted the board since the appellate board revoked his indefinite ban.
Rizvi said that the veteran test player would have to clear his position before the board if he wants the PCB to clear him for playing. He further added that all of the other players whose bans were revoked had been cleared by the PCB after they cleared their position and the same way Younis should also clear his position on the charges pending against him.

Butt further added that Yousuf does not need any sort of clearance from the board as his name has already been cleared by the PCB to resume his international career with the national team.
Butt appreciated Younis Khan’s statement that he is available for the national team, however, he said that the board is considering him for the national squad and nothing has so far been finalized. The PCB chief at the same time hinted that Younis Khan is not confirmed to get a chance against England.
