Pakistan Cricket Board's chairman called by standing committee on sports for hearing
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking forward to break their present deadlock with ex skipper Younis Khan by contacting him through a notice asking to him to contact the higher officials of PCB.
Pakistan cricket board is now playing safe after receiving heavy criticism from all corners for not picking Younis in their final squad for series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
Pressure has been mounting immensely and this matter is becoming a pressure cooker which will blow up at one stage if the things are not resolved soon. The whole http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket fraternity is screaming to bring back Younis into the
team that includes selectors, public, former players and national assembly’s standing committee on sports.
PCB’s chairman Ijaz Butt has been ordered to present himself in front of the standing committee for an inquiry over contentious decisions made the chairman recently. The main agenda on the trials will be alleged involvement of players
in spot-fixing scandal on the tour of England and snub of Younis from past six months. The chairman PCB is likely to skip the hearing as he has been doing it in the past showing his arrogant nature to the public but this time he has a perfect excuse, as he
is likely to be in Dubai for a meeting at the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) headquarters.
Meanwhile, Younis Khan who has opted to remain quiet in this whole dispute will be playing in a domestic T20 competition of Pakistan. He will be representing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peshawar-c832 region in the Faisal Bank Twenty20 competition and will lead the
side at the same time. He will be looking to respond with his bats to silence the board officials who have been trying hard to stop him from making a comeback, as they know very well that Younis is someone who can unveil their wrongdoings.
Whatever the case may be PCB’s soft stance on the issue can open doors for negotiation, which will be in benefit of Pakistan, as they seriously, need an experienced player. In this whole scenario, Younis’s reaction would be the key
because if he decides against contacting the board he may well receive another show-cause notice.
One thing is sure, Younis will not be bogged down easily and will fight till the end to prove he was never wrong and seventy percent of the case is in his favour after his successful appeal against the ban. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 may be having
other ideas by calling Younis for a meeting and he may threat or pressurize him to remain out of the equation of the team.
Younis is in a strong position than the board, as he has already won the case against them which make PCB’s case very weak. Standing committee on sports will likely come down hard on Pakistan cricket board instead of former Pakistan
captain. Any further snub may very well cause decline of the setup working currently in the board, as all top brass officials will be held accountable equally in their part when it comes to Younis’s case.
The middle order batsman is presently one of the premium batsmen of Pakistan cricket team alongside Mohammad Yousuf. Former Pakistan captain has already scored more than 5000 runs in Test cricket with a staggering average of almost
fifty.
