Pakistan Cricket Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-Khan-Niazi-c76385 stresses need for Players’ Union to fix problems
Misbah-ul-Haq, the newly-appointed Test and One Day International (ODI) skipper of Pakistan, has emphasised the need of a players’ union inside the cricket team to bridge communication gaps between the team and the management and resolve all the core issues
without controversies.
The skipper thinks that all the problems ensue due to the lack of communication as the players have no representative body, which can convey their concerns, to the higher management of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He argues that a players association can solve many problems that are currently plaguing the game in Pakistan.
Misbah has expressed these thoughts in his recent interview with Geo Super, a sports TV channel of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
He said, “A players association with the right people in place can do a lot in Pakistan cricket. It can improve communication between players, management and board. It can educate and guide players on contentious issues. It can lead to a reduction in the
controversies and scandals that hit Pakistan cricket. I think these are issues that can be sorted out with better communication. What I think about the contract, I should be talking about it directly to the board not in the media”.
He has also advised the players to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Read-c84446 and understand the provisions of central contracts before singing them in order to avoid complications afterward.
Misbah spoke on this issue in the backdrop of a recent spat between the outgoing skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sahibzada-Mohammad-Shahid-Khan-Afridi-c87933 and the PCB.
During Pakistan’s last tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193, over issues of team selection. As a result of the row, Afridi left the team and returned to Pakistan.
In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107, Waqar proved himself to be right and Afridi was removed from captaincy, with Misbah being appointed as new captain of the team.
Misbah opines that had there been proper communication, the dispute would not have erupted.
