Pakistan Cricket - Waqar Younis quits citing personal reasons – Cricket News Update

Revealing the details regarding his resignation the 39-year-old Waqar said, “I have tendered my resignation to the [Pakistan Cricket] board last week and the tour to Zimbabwe will be my last. I have taken this decision on personal grounds, including medical
grounds, and have no differences with anyone.”
According to the former pacer, his resignation has been accepted by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB).
In the press conference Waqar insisted that he would never have taken the decision if his health and his wife’s health was not at stake and he would not have been able to devote his attention to the team with personal problems at the back of his mind.
Speaking on his stint as the Pakistan coach, he described it as a rollercoaster due to the controversies that surrounded Pakistan cricket at the time he was running the show.
"It was a roller coaster for me, with a lot of controversies including the spot-fixing scandal, but I am proud of the fact that all these young boys have carried on the good work despite these problems.” He reiterated.
Waqar, who took over the job in March of 2010, faced a rough time while coaching the national side as in the same year the team was entangled in the spot-fixing fiasco which saw three Pakistan players banned for a minimum of five years from the sport and

However, in recent months right after Pakistan’s tour of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 who blamed the coach for selecting the playing eleven during the tour without
the his consent.
The whole situation turned ugly when Afridi was stripped from the captaincy, erupting criticism from all corners. squad after the Zimbabwean tour which will end on 18 September, 2011.
