Pakistan Cricket’s controversies: Misbah-ul-Haq denies resigning from captaincy; Afridi v. PCB; Afridi v. Waqar Younis
The newly appointed Pakistani cricket captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, who has been announced to lead the team in all formats of the game, has denied rumours that he is going to resign from the captaincy.
While talking to local media, the player stated, "I can categorically state that I have not resigned from either the one day or the test captaincy. This is the first that I am hearing of this and can confirm that it is false".
After the recent West Indies tour, the Pakistan One-Day-International and Twenty20 ex- captain, Shahid Afridi, was sacked from captaincy due to controversies with his bowling coach, Waqar Younis.
However, after reaching Pakistan, Afridi revealed at the airport that the bowling coach was not working well in favour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s team.
Afridi condemned Waqar’s behaviour in front of the media, claiming that he was creating problems in the selection of players for the Test series against

During the announcement of his retirement, the 31-years old all-rounder badly criticised the board and the management. He said that he was not willing to play under this kind of board, which always creates hurdles for players.
However, the decision of changing the captain made by Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman, Ijaz Butt, was claimed by him to be right.
He stated, "Captains are changed all over the world and no cricket board gives a reason for that, we did what we thought was best and don't need to give a reason for it".
He was also defending his decision for appointing Misbah as captain in all formats. Butt also admitted that he had no other option which is why he appointed Misbah as captain in all formats of the game.
Pakistan’s former wicket-keeper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-Latif-c84084, claimed that he doesn’t know what is going on with PCB and Shahid Afridi’s retirement case.
Latif also suggested, "The commission should find out what is happening in the team that senior players in the past like Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and now Afridi have decided to take the course of leaving the captaincy or retiring".
