It has been a rain affected match so far and it is almost certain that we are not going to get a winner from this final as only one innings has been completed with just one day of the match left. However, the final has been dominated by Test cricketer Yasir
Arafat who took 9 wickets in the first innings of State Bank of Pakistan.
At the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Mohammad Wasim won the toss for KRL and decided to bowl first as they heavily depend on the new ball pair of Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Irfan. It did not turn out to be a bad decision as SBP were struggling at 105 for the
loss of 4 wickets. The situation for SBP could have been worse without the efforts of opener Shoaib Khan who scored a smashing 76 off just 99 balls with the help of 11 boundaries. Left-handed middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naved-Yasin-c2081 also shined and remained the top-scorer
for his team with a brilliant 77 for which he consumed 158 balls and struck 8 fours. Jalat Khan also contributed with 45 runs batting at number 8. SBP were bundled out for a total of 303 runs in their first innings.
KRL’s bowling was hugely dominated by Yasir Arafat who took 9 wickets for 108 runs in the first innings of SBP in 25.5 overs. Arafat has just been named in the Guinness Book of World Records for his performances in the Twenty20 format of the game and he
completed his 700 first-class wickets in the current season as well. Overall, it has been a fantastic season for the all-rounder. Bilal Asad picked up the only other wicket to fall in the innings.
In reply, KRL had scored 12 runs for the loss of 1 wicket at the close of play on day 4. Star of the previous match Saeed Anwar Jr. was the only man to be dismissed in KRL’s first innings. He was clean bowled by an in-swinger from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ali-Naqvi-c998
and Zulfiqar Jan will resume KRL’s first innings on the fifth day of the final.
