Pakistan Head Coach Waqar Younis Doesn’t Want http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580 to get in his way
Waqar Younis, Pakistan’s head coach has made it clear that he has no problems with the newly appointed batting consultant Javed Miandad as long as he does not get in his way.
Waqar said that he will not hesitate in sending the players to Javed for improving their batting techniques, but when it comes to the match strategy formation, he does not want Javed to give his insight. “The PCB wants batsmen
to learn from Miandad. And if it helps the players, I don’t mind. I will send players to him whenever he wants them. He can work on their technique and sort out their difficulties. But when it comes to match strategy, that’s my job.” Waqar said.
Javed Miandad has been appointed thrice as the coach for Pakistan in the past. However, this time the realms of heading the coaching department are not in his hands and this might cause a clash of egos between Javed and Waqar.
Javed has been coaching well before Waqar, which makes him more experienced in the field of coaching. Nevertheless, this time seniority has nothing to do with the responsibilities at hand. Every member of the management has been
designated well-defined roles in their respective department. Former coach, Intikhab Alam is the manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431 is the bowling coach and former pacer/captain Waqar Younis is the head coach. At the moment no one is meddling in the domain of the others.
Javed Miandad needs to keep this harmony intact among the management, otherwise failing to do so may harm Pakistan cricket and end its hopes of doing well in the 2011 World Cup.
The performance of Pakistani batsmen on the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 tour will be a cornerstone in Javed’s new appointment. If the batsmen manage to do miracles with the bat on high bouncy pitches against the Kiwis’, Javed will surely be a
satisfied man.
Pakistan cricket’s past is full of examples when it comes to differences among the senior players, which resulted in the ultimate demise of the team. Pakistan’s senior players need to realize that if they let their egos come in
the way of their work, they are going to do more harm than good to the Pakistani squad.
There are many aspiring players in the Pakistani team who can benefit dearly from Pakistan’s legendary batsman, Javed Miandad. This was quiet evident in the 1992 World Cup, when Javed was in charge of the batting squad and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193
Khan was dealing with the bowlers. The combination of these legendary players was lethal and Pakistan won the cricket World Cup for the first time in its sporting history.
Now, the situation is almost similar, Javed is supposed to improve the batting style of the batsmen and while Imran is no longer affiliated with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket; his protégé Waqar Younis is heading the coaching department. The
combined talent of Javed and Waqar can certainly do miracles for this talented Pakistani squad in the coming World Cup.
