Pakistan’s ousted wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has been included in the One Day International squad against New Zealand.
Kamran had been left out of the Test and Twenty20 squads for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 recently. He replaces his younger brother, Adnan Akmal.
Test captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 also finds a place in the ODI squad. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that Misbah will make a comeback as the vice-captain of the team.
Although Misbah successfully led his team in the first Test match against the Kiwis, yet he could not impress in limited over matches. After his poor performance against the Proteas recently, he was left out of the Twenty20 squad against New Zealand.
Contrary to the rumours, Shahid Afridi has been retained as the captain of the team and will lead the squad in six one day matches. There were speculations that the Board will not be naming him as the captain after Pakistan’s poor performance in the Twenty20
series that saw the men in green being defeated by the Kiwis 2-1.

2011.

Kamran Akmal, who got the clearance from the International Cricket Council, is making a comeback in the squad after a gap of six months. He has been absent from the national side since the 2010 summer tour of England which was marred by allegations of spot-fixing
on Pakistani players.
19-year-old opener Ahmed Shehzad has also made a return to the squad. He played in the Twenty20 series against the Kiwis, scoring 83 runs with a strike rate of 150.90.
Mohammad Yousuf, the veteran batsman was left out of the squad, giving rise to speculations that he might not make the cut in the final squad of the ICC World Cup 2011.
“Yousuf’s fitness and form was not up to the mark and he has not played much cricket recently,” Khan explained his exclusion.
Pakistan will begin the ODI series against the Kiwis from 22 January, 2011.
