The present visit of Pakistani team to New Zealand will comprise of 6 one-days, two tests and three T20 matches and will extend a final opportunity for both of the teams to give a final touch to their preparations for the Cricket World Cup 2011.
Before leaving for New Zealand, while talking to the reporters at the airport, Intikhab Alam, the team manager, said that he was confident for the upcoming tour as till then, there were no discipline issues in the team. “There is complete harmony and no
disciplinary issues at all in this team and that is why I am confident that we can do well on the tour” said the team manager.
Waqar Younis, the head coach of team Pakistan, in an attempt to avoid the media personnel, rushed to the airport terminal.
Altogether ten players along with eight officials have left for the tour so far.
The spot fixing scandals are a major source of stress for the entire team. Intikhab said that he advised the players to forget the unfortunate incident and keep their focus on their own game. At a moment when World cup is just around the corner, the team
cannot afford to dwell upon the mishap anymore.
