Pakistan Test Captain Misbah-ul-Haq pledges a more aggressive approach against New Zealand
Pakistan Test captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 has promised to display a more aggressive approach towards their game in the two Test series against New Zealand, which is set to begin from 7th
January at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
Misbah requested his players to go into the series with an aggressive frame of mind in order to put the hosts under pressure. He said, “I’m pleased with the way we’ve played on the last tour [against South Africa in the UAE] but
the batsmen should be more focused this time and should be more aggressive in their approach than they were against South Africa. The players are confident and looking forward to the challenge in New Zealand even though the conditions will test our temperament.
We batted well in the UAE and each batsman is ready to carry on the good work.”
Haq showed his full confidence in the bowling attack of Pakistan and felt that even in the absence of the spot fixing tainted trio; Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, the team had the potential to give the batting line-up
of the host country a tough time.
Speaking while departing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 when Wahab Riaz was pulled out due to injury. We had to carry on with one fast-bowler
and that made it difficult against a strong batting line-up. But our bowling has the capacity to do the damage provided we put runs on the board first.”
Even Misbah believes that in order for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 to put up a good show against the Kiwis the greens need to put runs on the board. The bowlers just cannot stop the home side from chasing runs if there are not enough runs in the
first place to chase.
According to the Test skipper, it is high time that the batsmen took some responsibility and chose to show some professional batting.
Over the past two years Pakistan has been let down by their batting on numerous occasions and now with the World Cup just around the corner, Pakistan needs to lose the habit of hopeless batting.
