Pakistan Test skipper, Misbah-Ul-Haq’s Heroics Save Pakistan
Pakistan Test skipper, Misbah-Ul-Haq, was the man-of-the-moment, as he guided Pakistan to a draw in the second test clash between Pakistan and South Africa. Soon after lunch the Proteas managed to claim three consecutive Pakistani wickets and hoped to topple the rest of the Pakistani batting line-up. But it was Misbah-Ul-Haq, who came to the crease and waved –off the South African aggression. Chasing a mammoth total of 354 runs, Pakistan held a defensive approach, hat finally paid off.
Muhammad Hafeez and Taufeeq Umar, added a valuable 66 runs on the score-board, only to be dismissed by playing loose shots. With both set batsmen sitting in the pavilion, it was up to Misbah, to guide his team till the end. Misbah managed to wave the South African bowling attack and scored a useful 52 runs. He was adequately supported by Azhar Ali, who chipped-in with a handy knock of 22 runs. The scenario would’ve been quite different had the declaration been made earlier, allowing Pakistan to face more than 82 overs and a possible chance to bag the match and series.
