Pakistan V http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013: 1st ODI - England bat first
The one-day captain of England, Alastair Cook has won the toss and has decided to bat first in the opening One Day International of the four-match series being played at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed Stadium of Abu Dhabi today, Monday, February 13, 2012.
The prolific all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GP-Swann-c1501.
The Poms have also reshuffled the batting order with hard-hitting Kevin Pietersen moving to the top to accompany skipper Alastair Cook. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/C-Kieswetter-c1206 has been moved down the order, to number six.
Another injury concern for England is http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jos-Buttler-c1733, who was expected to feature in the series opener but a hand injury has ruled him out.
Pakistan, on the other hand, has decided to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 by seven wickets on Friday. The Pakistani skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq has said that he would have also batted first had he won the toss.
This is Misbah’s 15th One Day International as skipper. In the past 14 ODIs, he has tasted defeated in only one match (to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in October last year). The middle-order batsman must be eager to extend his winning streak in limited overs cricket after whitewashing the Poms in the Test leg.
England go into the series as underdogs, but keeping in view their formidable batting line up, featuring the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 and Alastair Cook at the top of the order, one cannot write them off either.
