Pakistan Volleyball Federation going for an ‘alien’ instructor
Despite having the best slot in the region, which can even excel in every nook and cranny of the world, Pakistan are still struggling hard for their standing in the world of volleyball.
Due to various issues Pakistan’s volleyball team’s international exposure has remained limited, and they lack training and coaching facilities as per international standards.
In order to overcome such hurdles, Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has decided to opt for a foreign coach after Brazilian coach, Augusto Sabbatini, is done with his one year contract with PVF.
Coaching of Pakistan's volleyball team has always been a matter of serious dispute among authorities. However, this time PVF has jotted down a unanimous plan for foreign replacement in order to get their team ready for an upcoming 16th Asian championship
as well as a competitive tour to Thailand.
PVF chairman, Chaudary Muhammad Yaqoob, added that “Sabbatini was doing a good job undoubtedly, but the thing he lacked was proper game plan”. He added “We plan to start practice camp for Al-Rashid tournament in Dubai as well as Asian championship in June
under the guidance of new Alien coach”.
According to sources of PVF, the new coach of Pakistan’s volleyball team would probably be from China, Bulgaria or Iran as PVF had already had good experiences with instructors from all these countries especially from Iran.
The major hurdle pointed out by PVF authorities in execution of this decision is lack of funds as PVF needs Rs. 30 million annually, in order to cope with proper up-keep of the national team.
It is also decided that Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) would also sign a deal with Bahrain for playing a league this year. Therefore, it’s a time and chance for the Pakistani squad to do their best if they are getting the best for their enhancement.
