Pakistan Vs Bangladesh, Pakistan Defending the World T20 Title
Pakistan start the defense of their world t20 title today, as they take on their neighbors Bangladesh, known as the tigers Bangladesh might not have the same ability and experience as India, but they hold enough capability of beating any side on their day, as they have shown In the past, by beating south Africa in earlier edition of the t20 world cup and back in 99, 50 over world cup accounted for Pakistan, in 2005 in England even beat the mighty Australian in a triangular series.
Pakistan have gone through a typically bad year since they lifted this trophy, but have a chance to redeem themselves in the Caribbean. So it will be interesting to see how Pakistan starts their defense of the T20 crown against Bangladesh because some of their early performances in this tournament last year were completely irresponsible.
This will be the first big test for newly appointed Captain Shahid Khan Afridi who has taken over from Younis Khan and Later a mini stint from Muhammad Yousuf. Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Saeed Ajmal and Misbah Ul Haq are the senior men but they will surely miss the injured Umar Gul who was quite brilliant with the ball in this competition last year and is the top bowler in T20 World Cup. His searing reverse swinging Yorkers would have been a key when it comes to the slog overs in the short format of the game.
Paksitan has always produced fine young crickerters and this year is inline with the tradition. There are some promising youngsters, especially Mohammed Aamer who is still only 18 and a real prospect with the ball, who showed in the last world cup how much talent and ability he has. Aamer is believed to be one of the emerging fast bowler in the world and can hold his own when it comes to batting. Time will tell but Aamer can surely be one of the most formidable all rounders in world cricket. Umar Akmal is the biggest talent to come out of Pakistan cricket since Muhammad Yousuf and Inzamam-Ul-Haq, and has showed immense promise and mental composure. He is already producing quality, Pakistani fans can't get enough of him and want the youngster to show his cards at the highest level.
Pakistan shared a two match T20 series with England one a piece in Dubai in February but could still be a bit rusty as none of the squad competed in the IPL. Pakistan have to decide exactly where Shahid Afridi will bat, but aside from that, the team is fairly settled. The absence of Umar Gul reduces their bowling options but expect Abdul Razzaq to get the nod ahead of fellow seamer Mohammed Sami.
Bangladesh who will have happy memories of the Caribbean won their first test and odi series against an ICC test Member, while west Indies were playing their 2nd string side due to player strike, but none the less, the Bangladeshi Tigers will be l*****g their lips, as they surely have the ability to take on Pakistan specially when it comes to just 20 overs.
Even though it’s the first match but a win will almost guarantee progression to the next round given the nature of the tournament, as 2 of 3 teams form each group will progress to super 8s. This match is very important for both teams and with Australia to come next; neither team would want to lose this game.
