Pakistan-a resilient nation of cricket enthusiasts
Pakistan cricket has now turned into a high budgeted soap opera with heroes and villains. Any individual, group or institution that has had to face troubled times in the midst of an economic recession have found an easy scapegoat aka Pakistan. If the Taliban
are angry at the Yankee infidels, they bomb Pakistan. If America is angry at Osama Bin Laden they send in drones equipped with missiles and bomb Pakistan. If http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 has danced in a film fare award ceremony, they blame it
on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/France-c2899 is unhappy, the EU is unhappy even Vietnam seems to be unhappy with Pakistan.
So in the middle of all this, where does Pakistan go? Maybe, the Pakistanis need to set up a colony on mars, to escape all this hate aimed at them. Despite all the hate, they are a loving nation. The refugees from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 all moved in with Pakistanis.
They welcomed them with open arms. When Pakistan asked these fellows to return back to their home country, of course Pakistan was blamed by Afghan government for exporting terror.
The average Pakistani is, therefore, used to allegations and accusations against them.
In the face of adversity, however, the average Pakistani fan seems to find some hope, even if the country is going through hard times. What the Pakistan cricket fans desperately yearn for is a win from the troubled Pakistan cricket team, for it somehow seems
to them a reflection of their own resilience in the face of dilemma.
Even though, the national cricket team has won only two out of eight test matches and only three out of the last 12 ODI’s played so far in 2010, the resilient cricket fans seem to find joy in whatever little comes their way. Despite calls for the Pakistan
cricket team to be banned from the International arena, the fans have shown complete faith in their players and the team and have castigated the role of the ICC, who they allege have mishandled the affair of spot fixing.
“There seems to have been no authentic proof against the Pakistan cricket team other than the video by the NoTW and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard has failed to find solid evidence as well. In the light of these developments, it seems unfair of the ICC to have provisionally
suspended the players accused of spot fixing, since they should have waited for the report of the Scotland Yard,” exclaimed an avid Pakistan cricket fan, Numair Shehzada.
However, it seems that hate groups have exploited such instances of individuals being involved in corruption to depict that Pakistan is innately a corrupt state and make unfair generalizations. Pakistan’s former captain, and all-rounder, Imran Khan said
that, even if certain individuals are found to have been guilty of spot fixing it does not mean that the entire nation gets collective punishment for their wrong doings.
The Pakistan cricket fans would gather in millions in front of their TV screens to see the final of the NatWest ODI series against England at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rose-c86842 Bowl and despite all the controversies, one thing can be said for sure, that if Pakistan wins, the allegations
of corruption will be overshadowed by a frenzy of celebration and excitement.
Despite all the hate that surrounds the country, Pakistan remains a nation that has time and again defeated the odds to make resurgence. This is particularly true about the roller coaster ride that the citizens of the state know as politics. Times are, however,
changing and the citizens are now facing up to all the adversities faced by the country. They have responded with great fervor to help the flood victims, and maybe this passion, this thirst of fighting the odds will be reflected in Pakistan’s innings against
England.
