Former Pakistani captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088, will have to hold his breath for a while, as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the decision about his eligibility for national obligations.
Malik appeared before the PCB’s integrity committee on Monday August 15, 2011, and explained his position about the controversial 95,000 pounds, which were earlier found in his bank account.
Talking to media after attending the committee meeting, Malik said that he has provided all the necessary documents to the governing body, and hoped that the decision will go in his favour.
“I have provided all the related documents to the PCB integrity committee and now waiting for the decision. I am hopeful they will clear me and hoping that I may include in the Zimbabwe series,” said Malik.
The flamboyant all-rounder has been out of the picture since his last international appearance for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625
World Cup 2011, in which the Men in Green reached the semi-final clash.
Malik has once again lamented over exclusion from the World Cup squad, insisting that there is no occasion in his life as terrible as missing the showpiece event.
“Cricket is my passion and love and I cannot think about leaving it. But I am very disappointed as I was not included in the national squad for World Cup at the time when I was in great form and my domestic
record is proof of it. I am very hopeful now for comeback and curious to play international cricket once again serving the country,” added the 29-year-old all-rounder who believes that there is still a lot of cricket left in his career.
While the current Pakistan side has been undergoing rebuilding process, Malik’s possible inclusion in the crew is being considered as a positive step by the PCB. Since the all-rounder has cleared his position,
it is expected that he will soon be given the green chit by the integrity committee and will be brought into the squad for the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 tour.
