Pakistan cannot take Sri Lanka lightly, warns http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 will have to be on top of their game to beat Sri Lanka in the upcoming series and feels that a flexible batting order will be key for the Men in Green.
Pakistan team is currently touring http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, where they will play two T20s, five One Day Internationals and three Test matches. The series will start tomorrow with the first T20 at Hambantota.
The former opening batsman was the mentor of the Green Shirts when Misbah ul Haq and company thrashed the Islanders in all the three formats of the game in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) last year.
Mohsin feels that Sri Lanka is a fighting team, which is never easy to beat in any conditions and Pakistan will have to do their home-work before every game.
While talking to Pakpassion, the former cricketer expressed that the home team will have an added advantage because most of their players have played in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is not the case with Pakistan.
“I believe that Sri Lanka are always tough opposition, whether playing home or away. On top of that, some Sri Lankan players such as Jayawardene, Sangakarra, Dilshan , Mathews and Malinga have participated in the IPL which will be of use to their team,”
Mohsin mentioned.
The former chief selector, who did an excellent job as the interim coach of Pakistan team, is of the opinion that in the modern-day sport, especially in the shorter formats, the batting line-up should be flexible and the role of stroke-makers has become
extremely vital.
He expressed, “In limited overs cricket, it's important to have flexibility in the batting. One needs to move according to the conditions and situations of the game. Apart from that, there is no doubt in my mind that Pakistan has to play very well to beat
Sri Lanka, especially in Sri Lanka.”
Taking into account the recent performances, Pakistan will start the series as favourites, despite the fact that Sri Lanka is always a formidable unit in their own backyard.
