Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam: West Indies tour will provide youngsters a chance to impress

Following Pakistan’s ouster from the ICC World Cup 2011 semi-final at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 recently, the national selectors decided to give a chance to new players for the next series. Kamran Akmal, Umar Gul, Abdul Razzaq and Younis Khan, who were part of
the mega event, were sidelined.
The manager said that Umar Akmal is a talented player and his innings would be charming for the Caribbean crowd because he is entertaining and hits the ball brilliantly.
Umar has also been a key player in the recently concluded World Cup. While playing as an opener in the event, Umar gave a mature batting performance. He was named Man of the Match twice- once against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
“Now [after the semi-final finish at the World Cup] the expectations are even higher for this tour, because we have never won a series out here before,” said Intikhab.

fine.
Alam, who played his last Test at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad in 1977, said that he enjoyed touring the Caribbean and had spent a lot of time there in the company of friends like Sir Garfield Sobers and Clive Lloyd.
The tour will start with the only Twenty20 on 21 April, 2011 while the teams will start training for that match on Saturday.
Besides the only Twenty20, the teams will also play two Tests and five One Day Internationals.
