Pakistan cricket: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128’s ‘Memogate’ affair
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s current memogate scandal in the country’s politics, another affair of similar nature has surfaced, where according to unfamiliar sources, Ijaz Butt, the former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wrote an elusive letter to the White
House, urging America’s Major League Baseball to intervene in the cricketing affairs of Pakistan.
According to invalid sources, Butt, during his last weeks in office, wrote the letter and wanted the US to take appropriate action in order for him to continue his tenure as the chairman of the PCB.
On receiving this letter, the MLB asked the manager of New York Yankees to make a trip to controversy stricken PCB and device ways to stamp US influence in Pakistan’s cricket.
According to the details in Butt’s letter, he promised to place a pro-American cricketer as the captain of the national team, who would then ensure that bulk of the team’s earnings would go to the Yankees.
Details have revealed that the Yankees are facing a financial crunch and are seeking foreign investment to avert bankruptcy.
It is estimated that nearly all of the Yankee players have served two tours in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745, where the players faced stiff resistance from Taliban backed baseball players.
Meanwhile, Pakistan government has refused to comment on Butt’s letter, in order to avoid straining relations with the US.
However, this scribe contacted Butt, who is in hiding these days at an undisclosed location in Miami. According to the former PCB boss, the letter was written in good faith as he never intended to hurt the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan cricket.
“ Let me tell you, I never held ill-will towards Pakistan cricket and the memo was written in order to help our brotherly country of the United States of America as their baseball league is drying out and being their non-NATO ally, it was out duty to offer
our services,” explained Butt in the telephonic conversation.
It has also been revealed that US was not comfortable with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 as the captain of Pakistan’s elite cricket squad and wanted him removed because the Comically Idiotic Agency (CIA) suspects Afridi of having close ties with the Taliban.
Meanwhile, Afridi, who is currently in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 has rebuffed the reservations of the CIA and insisted that he was never a Taliban fan and the CIA has got it the other way around because the Taliban are his huge supporters and when he is playing, the Taliban,
always announce a ceasefire along the border, which shows that he is actually doing the US led NATO a favour.
Afridi further announced that on his return back home, he would file a case for treason against Butt, who has shown his real face by dispatching an ‘anti-Pakistan cricket memo.’
Butt, and the 31-year-old all-rounder were at different ends for the last few months and have since not spoken with each other.
Responding to Afridi’s threat, Butt, explained that he does not fear any Court and would fight for his innocence if Afridi chooses to file a case against him.
This year, after Afridi’s ouster from the national team, the Taliban announced their unconditional support for the all-rounder and threatened Butt of severe consequences if he failed to recall the hard-hitting all-rounder in the national team.
“The removal of Afridi is unjustified, he is a true Muslim and a true Pakistani, we will carry out peroxide attacks on PCB,” said a Taliban commander.
