There had been many changes made to the Pakistani squad for the African tour, as many youngsters were given a chance to prove their mettle. Apart from that, some tested players were also inducted in the squad in order to cement their spot in the side.
Although this was a very good sign, it also put the tourists under immense pressure, as they were up against a spirited Zimbabwean team.
However, the Men in Green managed to whitewash the opposition in all three formats of the game.
The series kicked off with a one-off Test, which Pakistan won by seven wickets. At one stage the five day game seemed to be headed towards a draw, but a second innings collapse for Zimbabwe allowed the opposition to win on the final day.
Similarly, the three-match ODI series was also challenging for both sides, but the tourists prevailed in all games followed by a 2-0 win in the Twenty20s as well.

This tour was also a last one for coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193, who had resigned from his job before heading to Zimbabwe. He will certainly be pleased with a successful ending to his campaign.
However, it will be a difficult task for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint Waqar’s replacement, as the former skipper did a brilliant job with the team.
