Pakistan cricketers could be involved in match-fixing
Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, amongst some of the others, have come under the match-fixing scanner in the fourth and the final Test match of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed, an alleged match-fixer is said to have claimed to know most of the Pakistani side, and accepted money on the players’ behalf.

The sting operation shows a video of Majeed accepting 10,000 pounds and 140,000 on two separate occasions from the news sting operator, in return for having the bowlers bowl a couple of no-balls in the game. This sub-plot in a game is often termed as spot-fixing, in which the game’s is not fixed, but only a few incidents within the match are fixed.

In this case, Majeed was shown to be speaking to the sting reporter and explaining that the bowlers will bowl a no-ball off the first ball of the third over and the sixth ball of the tenth over of the English innings. That is exactly how it had panned out as Amir bowled a huge no-ball off the first ball of the third over, while Asif repeated the same in the tenth over. What was interesting was that the no-ball that Amir bowled was so big that it was almost difficult to believe.

It was also revealed that apart from Asif and Amir, the other Pakistani cricketers who were allegedly involved were captain Salman Butt, Wahab Riaz, Umar Amin and Kaman Akmal.

These allegations were revealed at the end of the third day of the fourth Test match, and while the fourth day of the Test match continued, the mood at the Mecca of cricket, the Lord’s, was rather morose. England went on to win the Test match, but the Pakistan team was not seen warming up before the start of the day and nor did they attend the post match presentation. Only Amir, who was declared the man of the series was present.

That the allegations are rather grave was revealed by the fact that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard has decided to involve itself in the matter. They arrested Majeed, who claims to be a players’ agent, and later released him on bail after interrogation.

For now, there is no news on whether the tour of England will go on as planned for Pakistan. There were whispers that the rest of the tour, which consists of five ODIs and two T20Is may be called off, but for now, it has not been decided.
