The Men in Green received a boost, as their premium all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, has been declared fit to play and will most likely feature in the match.
Interim coach of Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 said, “He took a nasty knock but he is a strong boy and he has recovered. There is no serious problem there was slight pain early on but he is fine now and
ready to go.”
The head coach said that Pakistani team will enter the field with one thing on their mind and that is to win the match, while giving youngsters a chance to have a go at the Lankan team.
“We will enter to win and will provide chances to whoever has not played. But we will play to win only and we can't take Sri Lanka lightly. We will, like we have done in the past, decide the playing XI just before the match,” said
Khan.
Pakistan has already bagged the ODI series with an unassailable lead of three games to one but they are not through with the Lankans as yet. Pakistan is currently placed at No.6 on ICC's ODI rankings, and by winning Wednesday's
game, they can move up in the spiral by one place.
The skipper of Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, asserts that his side has been working hard for this and it is good that their hard work is finally paying off.
“Of course that is a team goal. We've been playing for the last 18 months and through that we want to improve our ranking. This is a good opportunity for us and we'll avail that,” said Misbah.
The Sri Lankan team has lost both the Test and ODI series on this tour; they will now be playing for pride. However, their chances of winning suffered a setback as their star batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397, picked up a knee injury
and had to fly back home. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LPC-Silva-c1848 has been called into the outfits, as his replacement.
