Pakistan hoping to host India in August 2013 – Cricket News Update
Pakistan cricket team’s tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in the 2013 summer is likely to be split into two parts, as the PCB is looking forward to host their archrivals India for the first time in more than seven years.
Pakistan are scheduled to play two Tests, five One Day Internationals and two T20 Internationals against West Indies, at the latter’s backyard in July and August next year. As per International Cricket Council’s (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, owing to which the PCB and the WICB agreed to reschedule the tour to August to avoid the clash.
However, in a bid to create a window for a home series against India in August, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team will reportedly play either the limited-overs fixtures or the Tests against the Windies in the first leg of the tour in July.
Cricketing relations between India and Pakistan have been on hold since the terrorist attacks in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088, and on Pakistan soil it dates back to January 2006.
The Men in Blue were scheduled to tour Pakistan in 2008, but the BCCI called of the tour in the wake of the 26/11 incident. However, with the Pakistan cricket team set to tour India later this month, the Pakistan Cricket Board is hoping to invite the latter for a return leg of the bilateral series next summer.
"The limited-over series isn't [just] what we wanted," a PCB official told media reporters on Wednesday. "We wanted long-term bonding with India on reciprocal basis, and to extend our relationship we will invite India to play a series next year in August. We will find a way to at least keep the window open," he added further.
It may be noted here that Pakistan Cricket Board has postponed its scheduled tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
