Pakistan in commanding position against West Indies – Second Test
Pakistan took a firm grip on the second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, due to a brilliant inning by the opener Taufeeq Umar who posted an unbeaten 97 and took the total to 202 runs when they had lost three wickets.
The Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 now have an overall lead of 251 runs and still have seven wickets in hand.
The match is being played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts from May 20 to May 24, 2011.
Earlier http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 won the toss on the first day and elected to bat on a good looking batting wicket. They lost four wickets at 74 runs but reached 272 before they were bowled out in 109.5 overs.

Pakistan secured a first inning lead of 49 runs and their openers gave a solid stand of 82 for the first wicket.

The pair contributed 76 runs partnership for the second wicket and both batsmen posted fifties in the process. Azhar lost his wicket after scoring 53 runs and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208 could not stay longer at the crease.
Asad was the next victim after the addition of just nine runs.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-Khan-Niazi-c76385 came to the crease and gave consolidation to the innings with Taufeeq and took the score to 202.
Taufeeq was unbeaten and requires another three runs to complete his deserving century whereas Misbah was playing at 13.
The West Indian fielding was not up to mark as they dropped a few important catches.
Roach, Sammy and Bishoo claimed one wicket each from the Caribbeans.
Pakistan is in a good position and can end this match with a victor, drawing the two-match Test Series.
