Pakistan leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 eager to establish his career in limited-overs format – Cricket News Update
After enjoying all the success in Test cricket, Pakistan’s aggressive leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria, is keen to prove that he can be an equally dangerous bowler in the limited-over formats of the game.
Kaneria has been a great performer for Pakistan Test cricket over the years, having 261 wickets to his credit in 61 matches. However, the leg-spinner could never cement his place in limited-overs side,
as his ODI records, 15 scalps in 18 games, suggests that he will have to produce something special in a bid to make an impression in the shorter formats of the sport.
Following a Spot Fixing controversy in domestic cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, the 30-year-old spinner has been out of the international scene since August last year. Moreover, he is yet to receive a green signal
from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), as the governing body has recently deferred the decision about his eligibility for national duties.
Despite the fact that it will take him some time to be in action once again, Kaneria, is putting in a lot of effort to make his comeback empathic, saying that he has been working hard on improving his
‘slider’ delivery which will help him take a lot of wickets in shorter versions of cricket.
"I am desperate to establish myself in 50-overs and particularly T20 cricket and I worked hard on developing this delivery with the specific purpose of showing everyone I can be an effective wicket-taker
even in the shortest form of the game.  I am playing domestic cricket and that is allowing me to test the `slider`. Plus I am also working on some other new wicket-taking deliveries," said Kaneria.
Furthermore, he expressed his desire to participate in foreign Twenty20 leagues, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Big Bash, since he believes that playing competitive cricket among international
superstars will assist him in perfecting his bowling.
Talking about his return to national side, he shared, "I am confident that pretty soon this issue of me being cleared for national selection will also tide over and I can play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 again.”
