Pakistan players likely to feature in IPL season 6 - Cricket News Update
In another move forward since the resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties were announced on Monday, the members of Indian Board have supported the inclusion of Pakistan players in the next edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6.
The working committee of Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) has already given its consent for a short series between the two countries.
The series will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20Is and is likely to be staged in Kolkata, Chennai, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780, Bangalore and Ahmedabad in December 2012 and January 2013.
However, the proposal on the inclusion of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 players in IPL is likely to be tabled during the next meeting of the working committee.
"It's bad luck that Champions League T20 has been shifted to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 Stallions would have played here before the national team. Now with government also giving go-ahead, the general feeling among members is that Pakistan players should be allowed to be part of next IPL auctions," a BCCI working committee member told PTI.
Pakistan players had participated in the first edition of the IPL in 2008 and gave some scintillating performances with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665 receiving the ‘Purple Cap’ as the best bowler of the tournament.
It all changed after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terrorist attacks, where the Indian government accused Pakistan of orchestrating the events. The cricketing ties were soon scrapped in the wake of heightened tensions between the two rival nations as BCCI which owns the IPL forbade Pakistan players from further participation in the lucrative tournament.
After years of remaining in the back burner, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gareth-Berg-c1457 thawed after the two governments decided to improve their sporting ties. Last year, during the World Cup, Pakistan Prime Minister was invited by his Indian counterpart to watch the Indo-Pak semi-final.

"If you follow the trend, a positive decision will certainly be on cards when the working committee meets next time. It wasn't for any reason that PCB president Zaka Ashraf had been invited to watch the IPL final," the official further added.
