Pakistan prepare for ODI World Cup, Waqar Younis
Pakistan Cricket Coach Waqar Younis has come out saying that his team is preparing for the One Day International World Cup next year and this series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 is a part of the preparations for Pakistan.
Waqar is pretty confident about the abilities of his players, but feels there is still room for better players to come in the World Cup squad.
Waqar is aware of the fact that Pakistan has not won any major event this year and preparations for the World Cup look bleak but he believes that a few wins will lift this Pakistani outfit and that is exactly what his team needs.
Waqar Younis knows that a single win can lift teams to an unbeatable stature. He has urged his players to play their hearts out in the current series against South Africa. After a month long series in the UAE, the Pakistan team will head to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in
December, their last series before the One Day International World Cup.
Waqar feels a win in the UAE and then in New Zealand will have a positive effect on the Pakistani players. A win will also help the team management to finalize batting pairs and where to place each batsman in the batting line up.
The Pakistani coach is looking beyond the suspended players for his World Cup preparations. The former master of reverse swing wants his ace bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif to be back in the squad but is ready to go into the World cup without those
two tainted pacers.
Waqar Younis is ready to give a chance to new players, as he has said time and time again that he wants younger players in his squad. The Pakistan management is trying to formulate a combination of young and veteran players for the World Cup squad. A fusion
of youth and experience is what the coaching staff is working on before the World Cup.
The coach is exceptionally pleased by the recall of former captain Younis Khan. The inclusion of Younis Khan along with Mohammad Yousuf will strengthen Pakistan’s middle order, which at this time looks to be in dire need of some quality batmen. The Pakistani
squad will surely benefit from the amount of experience that both Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf bring with them.
Waqar Younis was the captain of the side when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in 2007, captained by middle
order batsman Inzamam ul-Haq.
Pakistan’s performances in the last two World Cups has been nothing more than utter disappointment and Waqar Younis’s boys will have to improve greatly if they plan on staying in the upcoming World Cup till the final match.
So far Pakistan seems unprepared and unfocused for the World Cup, with the match fixing allegations still lurking around, Pakistan cricket needs something special to break free from the shackles of defeat.
