http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 should forget the tried and tested players, says Jalal-ud-Din – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, but is impressed with the progress of the fast bowler Mohammad Sami.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced different teams for the three formats of the game last month and recalled some of the players who have been given a number of chances in the past as well.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Raza-Hasan-c84407 were brought into the side for the first time.
Some of the other players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Ayub-c76805 have been given chances in the other formats of the game.
Jalal, however, has issues with the inclusion of those players who have been tried a number of times in the previous decade but failed to make an impression at the ultimate level of the sport.
The former cricketer admitted that the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faisal-Iqbal-c56713 have been doing well at the domestic level but feels that both the batsmen are proven failures in international cricket.
“We have seen some old players like Sami, Imran Farhat and Faisal Iqbal make a return to the national sides. These are all people who have been given chances – time and again – yet, they have not been able to cope with the pressures
of international cricket,” he expressed.
However, Jalal mentioned that Sami has improved as a bowler as he is getting mentally stronger and has started to understand his limitations. Jalal, who himself was a quality fast bowler in his playing days, said that the Karachi-born
cricketer is bowling at a better length now as compared to the past.
The former cricketer believes, “In Mohammed Sami’s case, though, I have noticed some improvements in his game, particularly with his length. In the past he would overdo the short ball in order to get wickets. He could get a few wickets
like that but the best length for a bowler is up to the batsmen.”
