Pakistan skittle New Zealand out for just 80 runs in third Twenty20
After dominating the match with the bat, Pakistan replicated their form with the ball. Even though New Zealand lost the third match, the hosts still won the series 2-1.
New Zealand’s top four batsmen were all dismissed for a duck. The hosts lost five batsmen with just 11 runs on the board. Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dean-Brownlie-c1349 and Ross Taylor were the batsmen to be dismissed without scoring. Scott Styris was the only
batsman to go into double figures. He played well and scored 45 runs. His effort was all in vain though, as the Kiwis were bundled out for just 80 runs.
The Black Caps didn’t bat out the full 20 overs, and the whole team was out in the 16th over. After a strong performance in the first two matches, New Zealand must be disappointed with their poor batting show in the match. In the post match presentation,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 said, “We are disappointed with the loss today. We would have liked to keep the momentum on our side going into the Test series but the team is looking forward to that.”
Pakistan was good in the field and the bowlers did well to pressurise the Kiwi batsmen. Razzaq put the batsmen on the back foot with his accurate bowling. He grabbed three wickets in his four overs. The all-rounder got good support from Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482.
Afridi took four wickets to wrap up the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 innings. Apart from his four wickets, Afridi also ran Brownlie out.
Commenting on the performance Afridi said, “No one could have expected this performance from us, but this is what http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Razzaq-c84421 is an important player and he can change the course of the match with his performance.”
Razzaq was named the man-of-the-match because of his exceptional all-round performance. Both teams will now be looking forward to the Test series. The first Test will start from 7 January. Pakistan will be led by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 in the Test matches since Afridi
has retired from the longest version of the game.
