Pakistan team escapes to Taunton a day earlier
The beleaguered Pakistani cricket team which has been under the spotlight for allegations of match-fixing on their tour of England has decided to advance their departure to Taunton, where they will play their warm-up game against Somerset on Thursday. Somerset has said that they will welcome the Pakistani cricket team.

The Pakistani side was supposed to depart for Taunton on Tuesday at the end of the Test series, but they have departed from London to escape all the media attention that they have been getting. Six of the Pakistani cricketers were named by an alleged match-fixer by the name of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed as a part of his elaborate plans of spot-fixing.

The development has meant that the ICC had an emergency meeting with the cricket boards of England and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 today. It was decided that the tour will go on as planned earlier, and the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit will investigate the Lord’s Test match and the rest of the series on their own.

Sharad Pawar, the ICC President, has also said that the PCB will make a report on the same in the next two or three days and submit it to the ICC. Pawar added that the PCB cannot take any decision to call any cricketer or official back until they submit the report to the ICC. The President of the ICC also clarified that there was no Indian link found in the matter.

Pakistan’s politicians in the Parliament have demanded a stringent probe into the matter. In fact, the opposition went up to the extent of asking the Government to dissolve the Pakistan Cricket Board, failing which they will resign from the senate.

The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard has already confiscated the mobile phones of the cricketers and the process of investigation is still on. Former Pakistani cricketers have already called for a thorough investigation in the matter and ban those who are found guilty.
