Pakistan team to compete in Champions League – Cricket News Update
Indian Premier League commissioner Rajiv Shukla has confirmed to Pakistani news network
Geo Television that Pakistan’s Sialkot Stallions will be participating in this year’s Champions League T20 tournament, and the “decision will be stamped” on coming Monday, during a meeting of the Champions League's governing board.
This year’s tournament is scheduled to be held in India, with IPL team Mumbai Indians as the defending champions.

However, teams from Pakistan have been denied the chance to participate in the tournament. The T20 event was scheduled to kick off in 2008, but delayed owing to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terrorist attacks, which led to a freeze in diplomatic relations and subsequently
sporting ties between Pakistan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Continued efforts on the part of the Pakistan Cricket Board to resume bilateral ties with India had been fruitless, with Pakistani players also excluded from the IPL auctions. However, the relations between the two countries appear to be on the road to resumption
with the BCCI’s recent gestures, which involved the invitation of PCB chief Zaka Ashraf to the IPL final, and the decision to allow a team from Pakistan to participate in the Champions League.

The recent developments led Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 to express the hope that the bilateral ties between the two countries were well on their way to being revived. However, Shukla advocated a more cautious approach, claiming that nothing could be said in that regard
until further progression of talks between the two boards. He was also hesitant to confirm whether players from Pakistan would be included in the next edition of the IPL next year.
“This year's IPL finished yesterday, and there's a lot of time left in next year's event so just wait and see,” he said.
