Pakistan to host Bangladesh in a bilateral series on home soil – Cricket News Update
International cricket will finally return to Pakistan when Bangladesh visit the country in 2012. This was revealed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mustafa-Kamal-c78122 yesterday.
There has been no international cricket series in Pakistan since the terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan cricket bus back in 2009.
However, the security conditions have improved in the country and the local fans will finally see their heroes in action on home soil.
Prior to the tour, the BCB will conduct a security inspection in order to make sure there are no concerns for their team to visit the neighbouring country.
In return, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will nominate http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamal-c70069 for the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) presidency, which will change in 2014.
As per the rotation policy of the sport’s governing body, it is the joint responsibility of Pakistan and Bangladesh board’s to name their nominee for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625’s presidency.
Due to this, critics are saying that the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747’s tour to Pakistan is a part of a deal, which will benefit both sides. However, there were some other teams interested in visiting the troubled country as well, so such a series was likely to happen in
the coming year.
However, the BCB president said, “My board today agreed to form a security committee to visit Pakistan in January 2012 to review their security measures so as to ensure proper security arrangements are in place prior to arrival of Bangladesh team in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.”
He further went onto say, “Who could forget that it was Pakistan that proposed Bangladesh's entry into Test cricket? We are indebted to them. Pakistani players have played in Bangladesh and have helped our cricketers a lot. We will also try to support Pakistan
in any way we can.”
Earlier, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 had shown interest in touring Pakistan for a bilateral series before the start of the ICC World Cup 2011, but a busy schedule prevented the series from happening.
Since then, the cricket authorities in Pakistan have been trying hard to convince other teams to play on their home soil.
At the moment, the Men in Green have been hosting their local games on neutral venues such as the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
