Pakistan to host Lankan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 in UAE – Cricket News Update
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the approval of the series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), and the
series, which is going to be divided into T20I, One Day International and Test legs, will be played out in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
The limited over formats will precede the 5-day games as the bilateral series will kick off with a T20I on December 11, 2013, at Dubai International Stadium, followed by another on the 13th. The two Asian teams will then contest 5 One Day International
games, played between 18 December and 27 December, 2013. The 5-day games will begin on the last day of the year and continue well into January 2014.
"The tour itinerary has been approved after consultation between Pakistan Cricket Board and its counterpart http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758," the PCB statement read.
The Men in Green have been forced to play their home games on foreign soil after the unfortunate terrorist attacks of 2009 and UAE has been their venue of choice. The last time the Men in Green and Lankan Lions met in the UAE, back in 2011, the Greens came
on top, winning the ODI, T20I and Test series. However, their own visit to Sri Lanka in 2012 didn’t turn out too well, where they lost both the ODI and Test series and only managed to draw the T20 leg.
The Lankans have been on fire recently, completely demolishing the touring Proteas outfit in the 5-match One Day International series. The visitors were unable to stand up against the home side’s spin bowling and ended up losing 4 of the 5 ODI matches. The
T20 leg of the series is currently in progress and the Proteas will be looking to end the tour on a high note.
