Pakistan v Bangladesh – 2nd Test – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in control at stumps on day 3
Pakistan were in control of the second Test against Bangladesh at stumps on day three at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka on Monday, December 19, 2011.
The tourists ended the day with 292 runs on the board and just three wickets down. Veteran batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747’s
first innings total of 338 runs.
Conditions in Mirpur have not been ideal for cricket over the past three days. The weather has not allowed both teams to have a complete day’s play until now and if that continues to happen; the match will probably end in a draw.
The Men in Green are currently leading the series by 1-0 and a drawn game will not be a problem for them, but Misbah will be looking forward to getting a result out of this match by playing some positive cricket tomorrow.
Pakistan’s batsmen have played well in seamer friendly conditions and opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahriar-Nafees-c2486.
The ball from Nazmul Hossain was angled across the left-handed batsman, who got a thick edge to it and went straight to the hands of the fielder.
Taufeeq was the second wicket to fall in the day for Pakistan. The only other batsman to be dismissed was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Azhar-Ali-c46890, who ended up with 57 runs.
He batted solidly, but was a touch unfortunate to be given out caught behind, as the ball did not hit his bat. However, he did a decent job, constructing a 127-run stand for the second wicket with Taufeeq.
Younis and Misbah will start day four for their team and will look to build up on their partnership of 47 runs. They have six century stands between them and will be looking to construct another big one for their side.
On the other hand, the Bengali bowlers will be eying a few early wickets tomorrow morning. They will have to do a lot of hard work, as there is still some batting to come for the opposition.
Bangladesh’s seamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nazmul-Hossain-c78993 is currently the most successful bowler for his team, scalping two wickets.
