It was Bairstow’s first T20I half-century and the batsman would be hoping that it helps England draw level in the three match series, as they trail Pakistan by one game to nil.
Toss went England’s way and Stuart Broad, England Twenty20 skipper, decided to bat first. Openers, Kevin Pietersen and Craig Kieswetter, provided the tourists with a brisk start. The duo put on a stand of 35 runs from just 4.2 overs. It was Pakistan’s Mr.
Reliable, Saeed Ajmal, who brought an end to their on-field romance when he saw the back of Pietersen (17).
The man of the match in the previous game, Umar Gul, removed Ravi Bopara (1) before the batsman could cause any trouble to Pakistan. Eoin Morgan’s (9) slum with the bat continues as the Irish born cricketer was the next man to depart.
Bairstow made his way to the middle at the departure of Morgan. The youngster along with Kieswetter started to rebuild the England innings as they added 30 runs for the fourth wicket. A rush of blood got the better of Kieswetter, as the wicket-keeper batsman
played one shot to many of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Afridi’s bowling, and was caught at long-off by Gul on the penultimate delivery of the 10th over.
Bairstow continued to bat with same intensity even after Kieswetter’s departure and along with Samit Patel amassed 39 runs for the fifth wicket. Wickets kept falling at other end but Bairstow remained composed and powered England to 150.
