Pakistan v England – 3rd T20I – Kevin Pietersen helps England to 129– Match Update
The experience of Kevin Pietersen, the right-hand batsman, came in handy for England, as the veteran cricketer played a composed innings of 62 runs that propelled the tourists to a decent total of 129 runs for the loss of six wickets, in the third and final
T20I match being played at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
KP smashed his seventh fifty of his T20I career, which gave the English bowlers a chance to have a go at Pakistan’s fragile batting line-up. The South African born cricketer remained calm despite wickets falling at the other end and finished England’s innings
in style by belting the last ball for a massive six over midwicket.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 “Boom Boom” Afridi was Pakistan’s most economical bowler of the match. Even though, the leg-spinner went wicket-less in the game, it was his nippy line and length that hampered the flow of runs. Saeed Ajmal, the off-spin bowler, was once again in
the wickets and notched four wickets while conceding 23 runs. However, the disappointment for Pakistan was their T20I specialist bowler Umar Gul, who went for 9.75 runs per over.
Stuart Broad, England Twenty20 skipper, for the third time in this series won the toss and, just as he did in previous game, decided to bat first. KP and wicket-keeper batsman, Craig Kieswetter, came out to face the early music from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s new ball bowlers,
Muhammad Hafeez and Aizaz Cheema.
English batsmen never got going and the best partnership of the innings was between KP and Kieswetter, the opening batsmen put on 29 runs for the first wicket. Kieswetter was the first man to depart, the hard-hitting batsman got out after playing a run a
ball innings of 17 runs.
Apart from Pietersen, no other batsman looked at ease in the centre. One after the other they all made their way back to pavilion but KP stood tall and kept the score board ticking. Some meaty blows from Samit Patel (16) near the end of the innings powered
England to 129.
