Pakistan v England: Back injury brings an early end to Chris Tremlett’s tour – Cricket News Update
The England cricket team suffered a big blow when the right-arm pacer, Chris Tremlett, was ruled out of the remaining series against Pakistan, due to a lower back injury. Tremlett will fly back home for a proper assessment and to begin the rehabilitation
process.
The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed the news before the start of the second Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755. The cricket governing body in England released a statement that read, “Tremlett has been ruled out of the series after a recurrence of a back
injury and a replacement will be announced in due course.”
The gangly pacer was ruled out of the match at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Monty-Panesar-c2024 for the crucial Test match. This was the first time since 2003 that England has opted for two specialist spinners
in a four-man attack.
Tremlett is no stranger to injuries. His career has been blighted by injuries, and an earlier back injury had forced the fast bowler to be sidelined for five and a half months.
Tremlett did not have the best of matches and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 lad went wicket less in the game. However, the 30-year-old was determined to bounce back in the upcoming matches before the injury cut short his tour.
Commenting on leaving the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, the speedster said, “Gutted to be going home early from the tour but hopefully get the back sorted out quickly. Thanks for all the kind messages.”
England will surely miss the services of the pacer, considering their bowling options had already been depleted by the absence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711, who is still recuperating from the elbow surgery that he sustained before Christmas in 2011.
The Poms are currently 1-0 down in the series, but had an encouraging start in the Abu Dhabi Test. At the end of the day, they had restricted Pakistan to 256 for the loss of 7 wickets. They will look to wrap up the innings quickly, and bat Pakistan out of
the game. The second day will be important for both teams.
