Pakistan v India Cricket – PCB officer Subhan Ahmed offers to host at neutral venue
The Chief Operating Officer of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Subhan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ahmed-Said-c42354 that his board has no problem in hosting arch rivals India at any neutral venue.
While talking to media reporters, Subhan said that Pakistan wants to play a bilateral series with India and for that they are ready to tour India and host them at some neutral venue if they later declined to tour them due to security concerns.
“We are already playing our home series at neutral venues due to security concerns of other teams. And we feel no problem in hosting India too at any neutral venue”, Subhan told media reporters.
Pakistan and India are expected to play a series in 2012. However, it has not yet been decided, who will host next year’s, Indo-Pak cricket series.
The PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO) told media reporters that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 between 2012 and 2020. However, he could not confirm, who will host the 2012 Indo-Pak cricket series.
“In fact, we have to play four series against India in the Future Tours Programme (FTP), which spreads from 2012 to 2020”, Subhan revealed. “But there is a question mark on the 2012 series as to who will host it”, he added further.
The bilateral series between the rival neighbours has been adjourned since the 2008 deadly http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 attacks. Pakistan has been more keen about resumption of the bilateral series than India.
According the Future Tour Programme (FTP) of International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625), India is scheduled to host Pakistan in the 2012 series but Subhan said that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has not yet confirmed.
He said that the PCB officials had discussed the future of 2012 series with BCCI officials in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hong-Kong-c2919 last month but the latter could not confirm anything about the series.
However, the BCCI officials have assured that they would give PCB a reply after getting clearance from the Indian government, according to the PCB COO.
“As soon as they get clearance we will resume the talk to decide the number of matches and the venues”, he added.
India and Pakistan are scheduled to play a three-match Test series and five One Day Internationals in 2012.
