Pakistan v India: Saeed Ajmal says it’s all about our bowling and their batting in ICC World Cup 2011
Saeed Ajmal, the young spinner from Pakistani squad for the ICC World Cup has said the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391, is going to be a battle between their bowling attack and the host country’s batting
lineup.
Ajmal, who has appeared in two of the seven matches the green shirts have played so far in the mega cricketing event, claimed, the team had specific plans for overcoming the Indian batsmen. He said, “We’ve got a few plans up our
sleeves. I see the match as a battle between our bowling lineup and their batting lineup. We know that our bowling is our strong suit and their batting is their stronger suit.”
Ajmal further commented that bowlers such as, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, Umar Gul and Mohammad Hafeez had been in excellent form throughout the World Cup, while the other bowlers have also done a tremendous job in supporting them. He said
the success the team had garnered so far, was a combined effort of the Pakistani bowlers, and there was hope for this winning trend to continue in the upcoming match.
Ajmal unearthed the possible strategy the boys in green will try opting for, “If Pakistan bat first, we will try to reach 300 and if India bat first then we want to try and restrict them to under 250.”
Declaring the match between the archrivals as good as the Ashes, the spinner expressed the hope to be part of the squad that faces the host side on Wednesday.
He was of the view that this was a huge match for everyone including, the fans, the players and everyone who was involved in it.
Referring to the Ashes - the traditional test series played between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England, Ajmal said, matches between Pakistan and India are equally thrilling for the people of the Subcontinent. He opined that the entire cricketing
world will be following the match and has hailed it as the tournament’s most exciting game. This is not only due to the volatile history shared bythe two countries, but also because both teams have performed impressively throughout the event.
This will be a sort of match one looks forward to play and watch.
Commenting on the pressure that is expected from the local crowd, Ajmal said his teammates will not get distracted and have avowed to not let the spectators get under their skin.
Revealing his own philosophy for staying focused, Saeed said, a team that allows the crowd to disrupt its performance, does not deserve to be playing at the highest level of the game.
