Pakistan v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, Test Series - Basit Ali predicts three draws - Cricket News Update

Former Test cricketer, Basit Ali has predicted that the upcoming Test series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and Sri Lanka is going to fail to produce a single result in any of the three matches and the result of the series if going to be 0-0.
At the present moment, Pakistan is deprived of International cricket at their homeland and this is the reason why the Green Shirts play their home matches in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033. the first Test of the series between the two Asian teams is going to start
on October 18, 2011 at Abu Dhabi.
The pitches in UAE are more than likely to be batsmen friendly and with the weak bowling attacks of the two teams, Basit feels that the series is going to produce no more than draws.
In the absence of the legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Muralitharan-c1864, the former Pakistan cricketer rates the two teams equally matched.
Basit said, “The Sri Lankan and Pakistan team are equal and I don’t think either team has an advantage over the other. Sri Lanka doesn’t have Murali so that advantage doesn’t exist – I forecast 3 draws.”
While talking about the bowling attack of the Pakistan team, the former middle-order batsman thinks that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aizaz-Cheema-c961 is going to make a big impression in this series.
This is quite an extra-ordinary statement, considering the fact that Gul has not been in good Test form over the years; whereas Cheema took eight scalps in his debut Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 recently.
“It’s difficult to see Cheema make an impact but Gul should do well. He should be able to reverse the old ball. If they want to win the series, Pakistan should use home advantage and prepare seaming tracks,” former cricketer believes.
He further added that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 to do well in future.
“Umar Akmal is too good a player to be dropped. Malik lacks confidence but if he plays with confidence he will be good,” Basit added.
