Pakistan after ending the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka on a tally of 281 runs for four wickets, managed to post a resilient total of 403 runs in their first innings to give the Lankans a run for their money at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The young guns from Pakistan showed exceptional confidence against an extremely belligerent Sri Lankan bowling attack that kept bolting deliveries right at the young batsmen, however, the duo forged a commendable resistance against the opponents and kept the batting onslaught going on a steady pace.
The Sri Lankans were getting impatient as they wanted to wrap-up the Pakistani batting and get a second chance to bat in order to steer the game towards a result oriented finish.
It was on the first delivery of the 134th over when Sri Lankan pacer Dhammika Prasad finally managed to break the partnership which had posted 70 runs by grabbing the wicket of Shafiq, who was caught by Jayawardene at gully after scoring an innings of 59 runs off 101 deliveries.
At the time of this wicket, Pakistan had managed to post 394 runs on the board.
